Hey, what’s up? I’m AJ.

So I write, big deal, half the world does. Fortunately, I also do other stuff like riding my bicycle and flying around the globe, going places. If life was solely about attaching letters to the screen, oh boy, that would’ve been tough.

Don’t get me wrong, I do love to write. But … I’m glad this first book is done. If you’ve been there, you know. All those endless nights editing, alone, watching the clock slowly tick away.

These days I’m a little less confined than when I was in law school in the Netherlands, which is a good thing. Ever since graduation I’ve been away from this country where I grew up. I’ve been all over basically and in particular, Asia. I even managed to pick up some Mandarin — “你好 / ní hǎo.”

I’m an avid amateur investor — unfortunately with very mixed results — and have worked as a teacher, an editor-in-chief, and at various gigs in the world of computers and business. My most recent project is — guess what? — a “mini-MBA” book selling adventure. Wish me luck 🙂

God bless,

Some of my most favorite quotes:

nstead of asking ‘what do I want from life?,’ a more powerful question is, ‘what does life want from me?’

(Eckhart Tolle)

cclesiastes assures us … that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to laugh … and a time to weep. A time to mourn … and there is a time to dance. And there was a time for this law, but not anymore. See, this is our time to dance. It is our way of celebrating life. It’s the way it was in the beginning. It’s the way it’s always been. It’s the way it should be now.
